Firm Finds Value in Keeping Tabs on Annual Industrial Commission Claims Seminar

On Behalf of | Aug 5, 2019 | Workers Compensation |

Workers’ compensation insurance claims adjusters are heading to Scottsdale for the annual Industrial Commission of Arizona Claims Seminar this Thursday and Friday.

Attorney Laura Clymer of Brian Clymer Attorney at Law will attend this year’s seminar. The firm wants to stay current with the ICA’s best practice recommendations for claims processing, as well as to keep a watch-dog eye on how the ICA is training adjusters for Arizona claims processing pursuant our laws and rules. This is especially important as more and more claims adjusters handle claims from multiple states and from out-of-state offices.

Workers’ compensation laws vary state by state, and over the last three years, the Clymer firm has seen the number of poorly handled claims skyrocket. Some of that may be attributed to fewer claims adjusters processing higher case loads or inadequate training – ultimately, these two conditions benefit insurance carriers’ bottom line while causing further harm to the injured worker.

Injured workers whose medical and lost wage benefits were unreasonably delayed or denied (bad faith) have civil and adminstrative remedies available to them. Successful bad faith claims against insurance carriers often depend on showing that the claims adjuster did not follow industry standards or Industrial Commission best practices, which is why Attorney Laura Clymer believes it is imperative to attend the annual claims seminar.
